Job Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing facility engineering department, which maintains of all equipment and fixtures, custodial and general building upkeep.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Responsible, either directly or through a vendor contract, for maintaining all equipment and fixtures in the facility.

  • Use computerized preventative maintenance program to keep all equipment in safe and efficient working order.

  • Order supplies to maintain equipment to specifications.

  • Order cleaning supplies for janitorial requirements.

  • Manage supply cost to within or below budget.

  • Work with facility management to establish vendor contacts and contracts.

  • Assist management with equipment modifications and facility design changes.

  • Train Maintenance Technicians and other facility personnel in proper safety procedures.

  • Supervise team of Maintenance Technicians and perform annual performance reviews.

  • Maintain accurate records, including detailed history for each piece of equipment.

  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas and ensure areas are always cleaned after each project completion.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and SPSA written work instructions and safety standards.

  • Work directly with other departments and assist in capital projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct supervision of Maintenance Technician team.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • One to three years’ experience in a supervisory/managerial position required.

  • Three to five years facility maintenance experience required.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Trade school or Associate’s degree in a technical discipline preferred. Experience in a closely related field may be considered a substitute for education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Excellent mechanical, PLC controls, electrical, and plumbing aptitude. Familiar with steam boilers.

  • Well organized and detail oriented.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Able to prioritize jobs to keep facility running effectively.

  • Good time management skills.
